Overview
1. Problem
Many residents lack exposure to Indigenous ecological perspectives on humanity's relationship with nature.
2. Action
OBEC created a public library exhibit inspired by Robin Wall Kimmerer's Braiding Sweetgrass, presenting teachings such as the "Honorable Harvest": asking permission before taking from the land, harvesting only what is needed, sharing with others, and expressing gratitude.
3. Outcome
The exhibit encourages visitors to reflect on their responsibilities toward the Earth and adopt more respectful, sustainable ways of living with the natural world.
