Overview
1. Problem
Lowertown residents want to bike more, but many lack access to a working bike, repair know-how, or safe cycling infrastructure.
2. Action
Contact resources (Lowertown Community Resource Centre, Lowertown Community Association, local bike shops, City of Ottawa, Ottawa Community Housing, Vélo Vanier Recycle Ottawa); find space for a cargo-bike shop; recruit volunteers; fund tools and space through community fundraising and sponsorship; promote through workshops, social media, and word of mouth.
3. Outcome
A working bike-building and rental system that gets more residents cycling, plus a stronger case for safer cycling infrastructure in the neighbourhood.
